As a member of the Sherwin-Williams auditing team, you will have the flexibility to grow into a variety of positions and explore career opportunities in any division of the company. Our internal auditors typically advance into positions of greater responsibility and authority within a year or two. From there, your future is up to you.
THE FIRST FOUR DAYS
Your very first four days on the job will be spent at our world headquarters in Cleveland, where you’ll learn about our audit system and study the guidelines that will help you excel in the field. You’ll learn the ins and outs of store operations and become familiar with our software programs, which you’ll run on the laptop that will accompany you on every audit.
THE NEXT FOUR WEEKS
Next you’ll spend a month in the field. You will observe and assist with four audits – each conducted with a tenured Sherwin-Williams auditor so that you can experience different approaches to audits.
During the final week of this leg of your training, you will have the opportunity to conduct your first “solo audit,” using your own approach and applying what you’ve learned. A tenured auditor will then help you conduct a “peer audit,” during which he or she will assist you with any follow-up questions you might have.
TRAINING BEYOND COMPARE
Your career begins with a six-week program of on-the-job training. You’ll learn everything you need to know to put your financial skills to work as a Sherwin-Williams auditor.
